The genius hour project is coming to a end. We plan to keep adding photos to our work page and to catch back up on the time we have lossed due to shorter weeks. We had to cancel the interviews due to lack of time and wouldn't fit in well. Our main goal now it is too finish the presentation and to touch up our website.
Aidan and Luke have both reached their main goals. We plan to keep on working on ourselves due to the whole point of our project. We want to keep improving no matter what because we aren't perfect and will never be. Photos will be added later today of our meal preps.

We are coming to the end of the genius hour project which has been a very fun time with some bumps along the way but we overcame them and worked around struggles to fix them.We are starting on the presentation which has been going pretty slow because we have not been as focused as we should have been but it does have work in there just not the best right now.
This week was another good week. We both have continued slowly to reaching our goals even with injuries. Luke is still unable to continue workouts due to his arm injury. He still does basic cardio to keep his body in shape.
We will continue to add photos of our journey with meal prepping. Workout phots have been a difficulty due to most of them are videos and are difficult to add. We will probabaly show some of our favorite workouts to atleast show the idea of us working out. We are still in the plans of interviewing Kat and Mr. Barker but trying to find the perfect time to do it. This week we have some set backs that will effect our outcome. Luke will have to stop doing workouts due to fracturing his forearm. He fractured it during lacrosse and doctor says he will be out for at least 6 weeks without any physical activity with that arm.
Our workouts have been limited due to short weeks and early releases. Aidan's work schedule holds him back of taking videos and photos of workouts but completes simple activities by working at work like walking, jogging, and moving heavy equipment. Interviews might be completed at the end of the genius hour project. The last couple weeks haven't been good times to be doing interviews due to different times. luke: He has been doing a lot better because of the new workout modifications he has made as in stop working out at home everyday because he already takes football conditioning. He has found this very effective because he is back up to 180 pounds.
Aidan: He has not been able to do a lot of working out this week because he has been throwing up Monday-Wednesday which in that time he has lost at least 3 pounds. He cannot wait to get back to working out and making himself better each and everyday. We tried to complete our first two interviews two weeks ago but didnt turn out great. We feel that we have to just get the person we are interviewing by thereselves and question them behind camera. We only plan to do three people due to the fact this isnt our main objectives.
Gym photos or workouts will be updated soon to our work page to show snip clips of what we have been doing over the weeks. The workouts will be short and may just end up being photos of our workouts. We want to try to show how to do the workouts but it might be to much. We have both continued to do our workouts and meal preps over the spring break but we dont plan to share our work due to diffrent locations other then school. This week me and Luke plan to try out a new thing that will most likely happen just this week. We plan to interview 1-2 people maybe more just depends. We want to see peoples personal views on working out and there opinions.
We will most likely keep it short and sweet with only 5ish questions to get to the point. We would like to show why working out and meal planning isn't as hard as it seems. We believe peoples voices matter when it comes to showing them going out there personal bubble and trying something new. Other then all that we have been keeping up with our meal preps and keeping a stable balance on weight. Luke has been doing good on keeping track of his workouts. We plan to get more in depth during week 6. Aidan has surpassed his goal and continues to work to his new one. The changes we are making is that Luke is gonna start trying to keep his weight balanced due to his lack of gaining weight. He seems to keep gaining and losing weight and staying around the same weight he started with.
Although it is not our primary goal, we are considering include interviews in our project but are not giving it our whole attention. That will only be done once, possibly at the very end. We'll ask open-ended questions regarding their views on exercise and its potential advantages for others. Aidan has reached his primary target of lowering his weight to 175 and intends to raise it to even 170. If he continues to improve, he might even attempt to reach the 160s. I'm pretty pleased with my current progress in keeping track of meal preparations. Due to his job schedule, he still finds it difficult to get to the gym, but he intends to make more of an effort during spring break. Luke's workout volume will be reduced as we alter our workout plan. Luke is already burning off a lot of the calories he is gaining due to his football conditioning and laccrose practice. He is going to do just one or two at-home workouts each week, if any, and may even take weeks off if his weight growth is sluggish. Due to work, Aidan finds it challenging to make it to the gym nearly every week. Despite the limitations of time and his work schedule, he is continuing to work on it. Throughout week six, the post for our workouts will be updated.
This week it was hard to gain weight because of the football conditioning and my lacrosse game. Today was max for bench I went up ten pounds but I have not gaiened body weight but it has been helpful with gaining gym progress. I will try to limit my workouts at home or away at a gym. In week three, we made the decision to base the first six weeks on meal planning and demonstrating weight control. When the six weeks are up, we want to compare eating healthily and doing moderate exercise versus going all out and continuing to plan meals but increasing the intensity of our workouts.
What we mean by the first six weeks is splitting up the 12 weeks of our project and compare both of them at the end of the project. The first 6 weeks we want to keep it simple and do some moderate workouts. After those 6 weeks the last 6 we will step up the notch and keep doing meal preps but do more intense workouts. We will start submitting photos of us working out soon and add workout routines and spreadsheets. We both agree this is a very simple project and can keep doing this to keep up our physical and mental state. |
